Audubon Charter School is a public school in Uptown New Orleans.  During a building addition, the school play yard was damaged and some portions were considered unusable.  The administration saw this as an opportunity to improve the daily experiences of the children who attend the school by renovating the outdoor environment.

The scope included new play equipment, artificial turf soccer field, new basketball/multi use court, safety town rubber surfacing, and a deck around an existing large tree in the peace garden.  The design is arranged as a series of individual spaces to allow the students to have programmed play of various different activities at different times of day.  Each space is designed to be flexible enough to serve multiple uses that may change over time.
