PROGRAM: 91,000 SF
BUDGET: $5.9 MILLION
CLIENT: ION MARINE IMAGING SYSTEMS
This project consisted of the conversion of a warehouse originally built in the early 1970s to a new advanced research and manufacturing facility ION Marine Imaging. Mathes Brierre Architects provided programming and space planning to provide unique areas to support creative collaboration for 80 mechanical, electrical and software engineers. Research laboratories house a diverse array of processes for product development. Light manufacturing includes clean rooms and another 80 workstations for assembly line production of small, sensitive parts. Larger equipment and parts are assembled in the heavy manufacturing area. Administrative suite provides offices for 60 personnel including conference rooms, reception area, and storage. All departments center on a two-story common area, including a large exercise room and bicycle storage area to form a cohesive, healthy work environment.
