LOCATION: NEW ORLEANS, LA

N-Y Associates was selected by the City of New Orleans for the Veterans Administration Medical Center Infrastructure Improvements project. One phase of that project is Streetscape Enhancements on S. Galvez Street between Tulane Avenue and Canal Street. S. Galvez Street will serve as the front door for both the VA and University Medical Center campuses. Mathes Brierre was hired to provide landscape architectural services for the streetscape portion of the project. Mathes Brierre and N-Y Associates worked closely with stakeholders from the VA, UMC, and City of New Orleans to develop a design for the S.  Galvez Streetscape that would compliment both medical campuses and enhance the street for the public. The design includes wider sidewalks, enhanced  pedestrian crosswalks, and shade trees.
